For Austria, the main railway line is the ÖBB, completely electric with full respect for the environment: it is an integral part of the network Summering, built more than 1 and a half centuries ago and declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site for its spectacular nature. It starts from Lower Austria and reaches Styria, among meadows, thick woods, tunnels and viaducts such as the scenic Kartnerkogel Tunnel and the Kalte Rinne, a 184 m long viaduct which has the peak of the Raxalpe in the background.

The railway Mittenwaldbahn connects Bavaria to the Austrian Tyrol, they cross Seefeld and Mittenwald itself, among very panoramic curves, views of the splendid Inne Valley and an arched iron bridge which, from a height of 60 m, overlooks the course of the Schlossbach river.
