5 Mountain Lakes where you can spend your Summer Holidays
If summer holidays in the mountains are a pleasure for body and soul, the holidays at the lake in the mountains they have that little bit extra that can make them even more fascinating. Perhaps because they are a compromise in the eternal struggle between sea and mountains or perhaps because they offer more opportunities than an ordinary holiday, the places that are close to the crystalline lakes are among the most popular every year.

Il Reschensee it is one of the most visited not only for its originality but above all because it is located in one of the most beautiful and peaceful areas of South Tyrol, on the border between Italy and Austria in the towns of Passo Resia you can rest in peace and escape from city stress. The mountains surrounding the valley offer trails for all tastes with views of the highest peak in the region, Monte Ortles 3900 meters of majesty is the reference point for all hikers in the area.
Lake of Braies
Its isolated location and its waters reflecting the imposing The Dolomites definitely make it one of the most beautiful lakes around Trentino Alto Adige. Not far away opens the valley ofAlta Pusteria, one of the largest and greenest in all of South Tyrol, a reference point for South Tyrolean tourism.
Perhaps less famous than the others but no less popular, the Molveno lake is located a few kilometers above Lake Garda in thePaganella plateau. It is the second largest lake in Trentino Alto Adige and extends for 4km in length and 1,5 in width.
Its extension makes it a tourist and sporting lake, as well as being able to cross it with pedal boats or boats, you can admire it at 360 degrees following the paths that surround it, from here also numerous excursions to the surrounding mountains depart. The lakeshore also offers stretches of beach where you can stop and sunbathe pampered by the light mountain breeze.

This lake at the foot of the Dolomites it was formed due to a tremendous landslide which in 1771 blocked the flow of water creating a large natural basin. The attempts to break the natural embankment created by the landslide were useless and so did the inhabitants of the village Alleghe they found themselves living with a body of water which had never existed until that time.
Today that small body of water reflects the peaks of the Civetta Mount (3000m) and is the destination of many tourists determined to find some peace among the Dolomites of Veneto. The shores of the lake are well cared for and allow you to rest lulled by the sounds of the surrounding woods. If you prefer sporting activity to rest then just take the backpack and leave for the numerous excursions offered by this mountain area, among all you can follow the path that connects the town of Alleghe with theAlta Via n.1 of the Dolomites.
In Friuli Venezia Giulia among the green valleys of Carnia there is the Lake of sauris. This artificial lake rises in one of the most fascinating areas of the Friulian Alps, a short distance away are the villages of Sauris di Sotto e Sauris di Sopra famous above all for the delicious Prosciutto di Sauris.
These alpine villages are today tourist centers that have managed to keep their history and tradition intact, here we speak a particular language that has ancient origins and is partly influenced by German. Visiting the country one cannot remain impassive in front of the spectacle offered by barns where hay is still dried on wooden beams today. The wide and quiet valley offers many trails for excursions between mountain huts and mountain huts, upon returning to the town we leave for new excursions in the name of typical cuisine of Sauris made of genuine products with an intense flavor, as tradition dictates.
