Val di Fiemme has always been one of the areas in Trentino that has developed tourism to meet the needs of families with children . In addition to a gentle landscape with wide valleys, Val di Fiemme offers many natural attractions where children can have fun in complete safety.
From excursions to the Violin Forest with trails dedicated to children, to bike rides in the valley thanks to the splendid cycle path that connects it to the Val di Fassa.
The lifts lead to three large play areas specifically designed for children, from Cermislandia (on the Cermis mountain in Cavalese) to the Bellamonte play area (Alpe Lusia). All are immersed in the greenery of Trentino's forests, safe from danger and served by modern mountain refuges.
If you are a family with children on holiday in Val di Fiemme then there are some places that are absolutely worth a visit during the summer.
The first place is the Cavalese waterfall , located right near the town of Cavalese and easily accessible by car from the provincial road that runs through the valley. It's a majestic yet elegant waterfall, cascading gently down into the valley. Its location makes it easy to reach, and recent renovations have created a beautiful circular trail that allows you to start from the bottom and reach the highest point (where it drops) along an easy and safe path, even for children.
Another place to visit with children is there Sadole hut in Ziano di Fiemme, can be reached by car starting from the village of Ziano and following the signs that lead to the hut and the sadole hut. A piece of road is white and not asphalted, however it is easily accessible.
Once you reach Malga Sadole, you are in the green heart of the Lagorai, surrounded by nature and away from the noise of the valley, a magnificent stream descends quietly, furrowing the meadows where cows graze and the majestic surrounding woods.
Here you can spend a whole day of games and relaxation thanks to a new play area dedicated to children at the sadole hut or exploring the surroundings of the hut where the cows graze peacefully.
Both the hut and the sadole hut are also a bar and restaurant so once you arrive at your destination you don't need to move elsewhere. For the more "adventurous" families there is a path that climbs towards the pass, a very easy path that allows you to reach a beautiful plain where horses graze.
Another fantastic place in the Val di Fiemme and recommended for a trip with children is Val Venegia , a very popular but also very spacious destination where children can have fun on the meadows, in contact with the cows of the mountain hut and parents can enjoy the magnificent view of the Pale di San Martino.
In this large natural amphitheater there are 2 huts where you can find refreshment, the path is wide and can be traveled with a stroller.
Alpe Cimbra, also known as the Altopiano di Folgaria Lavarone and Luserna, in recent years has begun to offer excellent services to families with children. Many structures have been able to renew themselves by offering useful services to families and the tourist board has enhanced all the sweet paths in the area.
It is an easy to reach location and does not have large differences in height. The territory is devoid of roughness and this makes it perfect for simple but fascinating excursions and above all suitable for children of all ages. Many trails have been designed to be tackled comfortably with mountain strollers.
The two most interesting and suitable excursion centers for children are those of Passo Coe and that of the Fiorentini-Forte Cherle.
In the first case, we find ourselves in a gently sloping mountain pass at 1600 meters above sea level. Numerous trails depart from here, some of which are accessible even with strollers. At Passo Coe, there is also a new artificial lake, built a few years ago as a primary snowmaking reservoir. The creation of this lake has made this area very interesting and ideal for spending a peaceful day.
The Forte Cherle and Fiorentini area is located on the opposite side, on the border between Folgaria (TN) and Tonezza (Veneto). Here, you'll find large, green mountain pastures boasting numerous easy-to-use and child-friendly trails. Here, you can spend a wonderful day exploring the mountain pastures and forests of Folgaria.
If the town of Folgaria offers life and many events, Lavarone is no less than that with its lake is a guarantee of fun for children.
Best known for the Tre Cime di Lavaredo or the very famous Lake Braies. Alta Pusteria wins easy thanks to a considerable extension of the territory, a wide valley where you can make excursions and bike rides almost like in the plains.

You can stay in the welcoming and lively town of Andalo or in Molveno where there is one of the most beautiful and largest lakes in Trentino. The area is served by ski lifts that allow you to get to the top without effort.
This location looks almost fake from how beautiful it is. You can opt for a stay in the Castelrotto valley (about 1000 meters) or stay directly in the Siusi Plateau, a closed traffic area, a real paradise on earth.
You have to expect completely different prices compared to those of the places mentioned above (much higher especially in high season), but the quality of the structures and the spectacle offered by the landscape will make you understand the value of this area.
Public transport, ski lifts and trails within everyone's reach (real roads closed to traffic) make the Alpe di Siusi a paradise for families with children.
