Paneveggio Lake

Paneveggio Lake

Lake Paneveggio, also known as Lake Fort Buso, is located in Val di Fiemme in the municipality of Predazzo, in Trentino Alto Adige at 1450m above sea level.

Lake Paneveggio is located along the Strada Statale 50, which from Predazzo leads to San Martino di Castrozza passing through the Rolle Pass, and is an artificial lake born from the damming of a concrete dam built in the XNUMXs, which serves to feed the hydroelectric power station of Caoria. The lake is located within the Paneveggio - Pale di San Martino Natural Park and is surrounded by the Dossaccio and the Cime di Bragarolo, which are part of the Lagorai chain.

From Lake Paneveggio you can undertake some interesting excursions, including the one that leads to Val Ceremana, lasting about 3 and a half hours along path 337. Starting from the eastern shore of the lake, follow the forest road of Ceremana, climbing into the valley at the crossroads up to the Forcella Ceremana: from here you can proceed towards San Martino di Castrozza or towards the Colbricòn saddle. Another interesting excursion, lasting about an hour, is the one that leads from the lake to Forte Dossaccio: it will be sufficient to follow the Carigole forest road that leads to the top of the hill, right above the lake. Those who do not like demanding excursions can try their hand at discovering the lake by walking around the ring that surrounds it: the path, lasting about 45 minutes, will allow you to admire the lake in all its perimeter and appreciate its thousand facets of colors. and the beauty and grandeur of the mountains that surround it.
