The Dolomites were declared a "World Heritage Site" by UNESCO in 2009 as they meet some of the requirements identified by the United Nations as fundamental elements to be included in the group of realities that can boast this title on a global level.
The UNESCO recognition, which has also found expression in the establishment of a specific Dolomites Unesco Foundation, creates the conditions for the Dolomite area to become the subject of a unified tourism environmental promotion policy.
EXPO OF THE DOLOMITES HERITAGE OF HUMANITY, scheduled from 28 to 30 September 2012 at the Exhibition Center of Longarone Dolomites Fairs, aims to further qualify the tourist offer and at the same time raise the image and value of the territory, become aware of the value that a territory such as the Dolomites can express in its completeness and complexity both in terms of tourism and cultural values , historical and human environments.
In particular, a calendar of events (conferences, presentations, seminars, workshops) related to:
- The formation
- Sports related to the mountains
- Literature, art and legends
- The world of economics and technological innovation
- Traditional music and dances
- Voluntary activities and associations
- Meetings with the authors of the Dolomite publishing industry
Important associations such as the CAI and important bodies such as the Unesco Dolomites Foundation, Alto Adige and Trentino, the Veneto Region and the Friuli Venezia Giulia Region and many other protagonists of the Dolomites will be present.
