Horse riding is one of the most beautiful activities that nature lovers can do in the mountains. Contact with the horse is a magnificent experience for those who have never tried it as it puts us in relation with a sweet animal that knows how to accompany us on long walks in the woods.
A widespread discipline on all the mountains, the activity of horseback riding has found fertile ground in South Tyrol where the breeding of Haflinger Horses has allowed the development of excursions on horseback in the woods and mountain villages where nature reigns supreme and the panoramas make you dream.
Haflinger horses are a very tame breed, their docile temperament means they are also suitable for children and less experienced people. The brown coat with a white mane characterizes them as one of the most beautiful breeds, a combination that goes well with the mountain landscapes in summer.
The typical day of a horseback excursion is characterized by the preparation and the teaching phase where the instructors introduce the animals and give indications on how to behave. Then we leave for the excursion which, according to requests, can be of a different type. Usually we prefer the mountain paths in the woods with arrival in huts or huts where you can stop for lunch or a snack. Except in exceptional cases, you are always accompanied by instructors who give support during the trip and present the various landscapes that you cross.
Where to practice it
Horseback riding can be done in all mountain resorts where there are riding stables. Usually in every known locality it boasts a riding school. As already mentioned, horseback riding is a very common activity in South Tyrol where it is practiced all year round.
