Bohinj is a municipality in Slovenia located in the Julian Alps in the north-west of the country, within the Triglav National Park. Bohinj is located aminimum altitude of 569m up to maximum of 1759m, in the valley of the same name there is the largest natural lake of glacial origin in Slovenia which represents one of the major attractions of the place.

The large lake occupies an area of ​​3,29 square km and at the highest point it reaches its waters reaching a maximum depth of 45 meters. The northern shore of the lake has been declared a protected area and is therefore free from mass urban occupation, thus that side with its natural beauty has been preserved. Many paths start from the lake and enter the Triglav National Park. The cable car allows tourists to reach Vogel, a village located 1700 meters above sea level. The Savica waterfall falls from a limestone cave and makes a leap of over 65 meters into a very narrow gorge.
