Alpbachtal in summer

Alpbachtal

Halfway in the Inn Valley, between Kufstein and Innsbruck, lies the holiday region ofAlpbachtal Seenland, which offers a summer holiday waiting to be discovered and full of adventure for every age group. The inhabitants of the valley, with a sincere and frank nature, welcome all their guests, without however losing their originality and making the guest immediately feel at home.

in traditional villages surrounded by nature all uses and customs are still kept alive. At the same time, however, people are open to modernity and novelty, as demonstrated by the Congress Center in Alpbach.

The Alpbachtal Seenland consists of 9 locations and the smallest town in Austria.
Each place has its own distinctive charm, but they all show the typical Tyrolean friendliness: Alpbach, known internationally thanks to the European Forum of Alpbach; the land for the families of Reith i. A. with its Juppi Kid's Club children's center; Brandenberg with his exquisite cake, the “Prügeltorte”; Breitenbach with the Doll Museum and the educational farm; Brixlegg with its shops and its gastronomy; Kramsach, meeting point for summer camping and hiking around the lakes; the industrious Kundl with its ravines, the smallest town in Austria of Rattenberg, with its medieval atmosphere and the famous glassblowers, and Radfeld, meeting point for skydiving.

The list of activities and hiking destinations in the Alpbachtal Seenland it is very long. For example, there are the three aided ravines, whose paths have been refurbished for the summer of 2012. The Kundler ravine, thanks to thewide, relatively flat path without obstacles, it is also suitable for disabled people in wheelchairs. The majestic Tiefenbach ravine promises dizzying scenery, especially from the brand new viewing platform, located in the most exciting point.

The Kaiser Ravine, the shortest but also the most spectacular, is located just a few steps from the emperor's house in Brandenberg. We are in a place rich in history, since Emperor Franz Joseph used to go hunting in the woods here. Calmer waters await you in Kramsach, at most warm bathing lake in Tyrol; the Brandenberger Ache creek also offers refreshing fun in its beautiful waters. Historical impressions can be experienced along the castle trail from Brixlegg to Rattenberg or along the Alpbach educational trail of local culture, which passes past old farms.

Higher up is the panoramic trail of the Wiedersbergerhorn mountain (2.128 m), from which you can admire the surrounding valleys. A tip for mountain lovers is the Plessenberg (1.743 m), from whose tip you can see the Großglocker, the highest mountain in Austria, in good weather.

The Alpbachtal Seenland is located the smallest brewery in Austria, the “Kristall-Brauerei”. This brewery has only one employee, the owner Josef Moser, and produces only 1.500 hectoliters of beer a year; the name derives from the crystal clear water of the springs alpine in the area. “Jos”, as the owner is called in the valley, during a visit to his brewery gladly tells in person how he became a notorious side-car driver, known throughout the world. In the neighboring village of Inneralpbach is the "Kupferhäusl", the second home of the wife of the famous actor Johannes "Jopi" Heesters. The 19th century farmhouse can be rented for a holiday.

For another stay with personality you can spend a night in the Royal residence in Brandenberg, in the bedroom of Her Majesty the Empress "Sissi" Elizabeth. The most curious people will surely find a true Tyrolean original: Rattenberg, the smallest town in Austria of only 400 inhabitants. Heinrich Unterrader, also called the last bell ringer of Tyrol, has been living for more than 30 years in the northern gate of the city, which until the 19th century served as a watchtower. At the age of 80, he has a rich collection of memories and stories about the town of Rattenberg. Those who are not lucky enough to meet him personally can take a trip back in time thanks to one of the historical guides on the town of Rattenberg.
